Are crypto swaps safe?

Swapping crypto on Venga — purchasing one crypto asset using another — can be safe when you take a few sensible precautions. Security depends on both the platform you use and your own habits.

How Venga protects your swaps

Venga is registered with the Bank of Spain as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP, registration #D945). We monitor activity continuously and follow industry-standard security protocols to help keep your crypto assets safe.

When you place a swap (an Execution of Orders – Swap Operation), Venga executes the order on your behalf and locks in your price for a short window, so you can see the exact price before you confirm.

What you can do to stay safe

You play a big part in keeping your account secure. We recommend:

  • Strong passwords: Use a unique, complex password for your Venga account.
  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Turn on 2FA — a second login step, like a one-time code from your phone — to greatly reduce the risk of unauthorized access.
  • Phishing awareness: Stay alert to phishing scams (fake emails or messages pretending to be Venga to steal your login details). Scammers may ask you to "verify" a transaction through a malicious link. Always check communications through official Venga channels.

Managing market volatility

Crypto prices can move quickly. Because prices can shift between the moment you start a swap and when it completes, the final price may differ from what you first saw. To manage this:

  • Confirm your swap within the price-lock window so you get the price shown.
  • Stay informed about current market conditions before you swap.

Summary

Crypto swaps are safe when you use a secure platform like Venga and pair it with good security habits. Understanding risks like phishing and market volatility helps keep every swap secure.
